Adding a Meet to Your Schedule Is Not the Same as Entering the Meet

Think of this as a public service announcement about meet scheduling...

Each year, I hear from a coach or two who has seen a team add his/her meet to their schedule without ever contacting the host school.

It is possible to add just about any meet to your team calendar on Colorado Track XC. That convenience is only there, however, for you to add meets that you're legitimately entered in. It should not be understood as the "easy" way to enter a meet. Adding a meet to your schedule on Colorado Track XC confuses your team parents who check on the site for meet information and accomplishes nothing that actually enters you into the meet.

Many of the meets on the Colorado Track XC calendar are full. But, if you would like to inquire about entering a meet, that is why meet director contact information is supplied for most meets directly on the meet page (the only meets for which that information is not supplied are meets for which I don't have that information).

This year's meet calendar appears to be nearly full for track and field, but if you have word of a meet that is not yet on the calendar, please send that along. I try, however, only to add meets to the calendar for which results will be published. It's rather frustrating for users to sort through long lists of meets without any results. I am happy to add non-rankings meets to the calendar, but only when there is a reasonable expectation that results will be forthcoming.

I'll announce this again closer to the start of the season, but physical addresses have been added to nearly every track and field venue for the state of Colorado. So, if you go to the meet page and click on the venue name right below the meet page, you should see a google map for the location of the meet, with an option to click for directions. Please feel welcome to use this time-saving feature and let your team parents know that this is available!
