Like most USATF championship meets, the USATF Hershey Youth Outdoor Championships moves at a plodding pace. But, that does mean we get to come back day after day with a new set up of updates on Colorado results. And, the athletes are moving at anything but a plodding pace.

Starting with the 13-14 age division, the girls 400 meters came with a measure of disappointment as Anna Hall and Chantae Steele were the first two runners not advancing to finals out of prelims, though both ran in the lower half of the 59s. For Steele, however, the day was anything but a lost opportunity. She placed third in the triple jump at 33-10.75 (1.9) and advanced to finals in the 1500 with a 4:59.35.

In the 15-16 bracket, Charles Broomfield added to his meet success with a fourth in the discus at 131-7.

Moving up to 17s and 18s, Sydney Marr finished 10th in the discus at 112-5. Kiara Kearney put a bundle of sixes on the board in the triple jump, finishing sixth at 35-6 (1.6). And, with perhaps the Colorado highlight of the day, Julia Hall posted the top time in 400 prelims with a 56.43.
