The names and faces in the 5A preseason polls are familiar names and faces.
In fact, at this moment, the coaches are fairly well convinced that the top ten girls teams from last year's state meet are once again the top ten 5A girls teams in the state. There was a little shuffling of that order, but the top ten remained the top ten.
Mountain Vista retains their position atop 5A Boys, and the Mountain Vista girls made a serious move toward the top of the 5A Girls rankings. But, for now, the coaches are going with Cherry Creek and Monarch to prevail over Mountain Vista.
Teams finding spots in both polls included, of course, Mountain Vista, Broomfield, Fort Collins, Monarch, Fairview, and Boulder. It was a very good initial polling for Boulder Valley School District programs.
