Illinois' top returning female distance runner in Lindsay Graham will not race this cross country season, according to an official release from the Graham family.

Glenbard West High School coach Paul Hass sent out a media release from the Graham family that states the following:

"Lindsay has recovered from her injury, she is in the process of working out and working herself back into competition form. We look forward to her return for Indoor track."

An open growth plate in Graham's right foot has limited the senior's training for the past five months.

The senior was a likely candidate for All-American honors this fall, had she chosen to pursue an NXN or Foot Locker berth. She ran under 17 minutes for three miles six times last year and set her personal record of 16:23 to win her first Illinois state XC title. The news hits her team especially hard, as the Glenbard West girls were pegged as a top national team by multiple media outlets, including No. 5 by TullyRunners.com. The Hilltoppers took third at the Class 3A state meet last year.

Graham cut her track season short due to the injury after racing personal bests of 4:55 for 1600m and 10:22.53 for 3200m during indoor.
