In their January Board of Control meeting, the Colorado High School Activities Association opted to table a decision on the new format for the state track meet. The decision will be taken up again at CHSAA's April Board of Control meeting, thus permitting more time for discussion and input.
For coaches, perhaps the first and best opportunity for discussion and input will be on February 1 at the Colorado High School Coaches Association Clinic meeting in Fort Collins. All member coaches are invited to come and learn more about the details of the proposal at that meeting. Rhonda Blanford-Green, Assistant Commisioner in charge of track and field, will be at the meeting to take questions and receive input.
No changes in the format of the state track meet are under consideration for the 2008 season.
