Scoring the 4A Boys Regions

We now turn our attention to scoring the six 4A boys regions based on state performance. As we've done with the others, we take the team places from each region and score them cross country style. Then, at the end of the line we list how many teams from other regions were beaten by the last place (at state) team from that region.

4A Region 1 (South and West Denver Metro): 6-12-15-18 = 51 (6)

4A Region 2 (Colorado Springs area): 2-4-5-21 = 32 (3)

4A Region 3 (Denver Metro and North): 10-13-14-16 = 53 (8)

4A Region 4 (Northern Front Range): 7-8-19-24 = 58 (0)

4A Region 5 (South Colorado Springs and Pueblo): 9-11-22-23 = 65 (1)

4A Region 6 (Western Slope): 1-3-17-20 = 41 (4)

On this analysis, Regions 2 and 6 easily performed the best at state, but you could argue that Region 3 was likely tougher to advance out of than any of the other regions based on the best performance at state by the #4 team. The relatively tight team scoring in 4A Region 3 was definitely carried forward into the state meet.
