HAMDEN, Connecticut – Quinnipiac Director of Athletics and Recreation Greg Amodio has announced the hiring of Josh Glaab as the head coach of the men's cross country program. Glaab arrives in Hamden for his first collegiate experience after a long coaching stint with Fairview High School in Colorado.

A corresponding move followed as seven-year head coach and four-time Coach of the Year Carolyn Martin has been elevated to the Director of Cross Country and Track and Field. Coach Martin will continue to oversee both cross country programs as well as the track and field teams. She will remain the head coach for the women's cross country, women's indoor track and field and women's outdoor track and field.

"I feel that there is no better place for me to bring my skills and commitment to growing a team than Quinnipiac," Glaab said. "I am absolutely blessed to have the opportunity to work with the amazing people that make up the University. From the athletes to the coaches to the administration, everyone is passionate about what they do and their pursuit to develop the best athletic program possible."

An experienced coach on the high school level, Glaab spent 10 total seasons, including six serving as the head coach for the Fairview High School cross country programs. In his six seasons as the head coach at Fairview (2010-16), he led a 120-member co-ed team to six straight Top 3 finishes at the Colorado State Meet in the state's largest division. Named the Colorado Region 5 Coach of the Year, Glaab developed a culture of high athletic and academic achievement for the large squad. He also practiced skills managing his assistant coaches and team captains, collaborated with community partners and parents to develop access to opportunities for the student-athletes and he created summer camps for team bonding and individual development.

"We are all very excited for the addition of Coach Josh Glaab," Coach Martin said. "He has some great experience and ideas in many areas to help us continue to grow our programs. His enthusiasm and personality are a great fit here at Quinnipiac and I am confident that with his addition, all of our teams will be able to excel even further."

In his 10-year long tenure (2006-16) at Fairview High School, Glaab also served as a high school science teacher in what is classified as a highly effective IB school which is consistently ranked in the Top 10 in Colorado. His role at the high school extended beyond the classroom as he also served as IT support for the 100-member staff and was the IT chair for the science department while also being an Athletics Game Day administrator.

A former two-time All-Mountain Region runner for Colorado State University, the former Ram participated in four NCAA Championships in his four years as a student-athlete. Glaab compiled numerous accolades in his collegiate career as he was an eight-time All-Conference and All-Academic athlete, earned the Mountain West Freshman of the Year honor and graduated with the Mountain West Conference and Colorado State indoor 5000m record.

He continued his career as a professional for five years following graduation. He was first in both the Chicago Rock and Roll Half-Marathon and Twin Cities 10 Mile.

Glaab graduated from Colorado State University in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in natural science with physics emphasis. He later earned his master's in education leadership from Colorado State in 2010.
