2017 LoboCat Invitational: Weather, Meet Battle To A Draw

It wasn't Lauren Offerman's fastest 800 ever, but 2:26 was more than enough to dominate the meet on Friday.

Editor's Note: A couple technical delays and the fact that Tim Hilt took on covering two meets this weekend as far apart as Fort Collins and Grand Junction meant a little delay in his articles. Look for coverage of the Central Warrior later today...

With a noontime start in Fort Collins the Rocky Mountain/Fossil Ridge hosted LoboCat Invite started with partly cloudy skies and chilly temps, but like most meets on the Front Range this weekend the weather quickly took a turn for the worse.

By 3 o'clock many teams began breaking camp to migrate toward their buses. After the 800s the meet organizers decided to call it a day due to horizontally blowing snow and temps that had dropped to the teens.

Despite the weather, northern Colorado tracksters proved their mettle in less than ideal conditions. French Field again featured a progressive addition of a boys SMR to the meet line up, as well as javelin.
