The 5:11s Lina Corrales and Michelle Renner posted on Friday night would have been golden any other year. This year, the marks will have to withstand a withering final week of qualifying.
It goes without saying that qualifying standards will get stronger this week. Distance (1600, 3200) is already considerably tougher than the last two years. More athletes will be laying it on the line for state qualifying and some people who think today that they're safe will find out on Saturday that they weren't. But, going into the last week of qualifying, here is where we stand with respect to the last two years (minus a couple of EMAC league meet prelims results that haven't made it to me yet):
