The Battle Of Boulder Brings Out The Best

Mia Manson came away with the victory in the long jump.

The girl's side of the meet saw a ton of performances that shuffle the state rankings.

in the sprints it was the Mary Gillett show. The Niwot senior won the 100, 200, and the 400. Her 400 time of 55.46 was a new meet record, and No. 2 in all-classifications. Gillett also finished second in the long jump.

Among the many competitors left in Gillett's wake on the track was Mia Manson, who finished second to Gillett in the 100 and the 200. But Manson would have her wins in the field - she claimed the long jump in 17.11-75, and the pole vault in 11-4. Her long jump is currently No. 5 in all-classifications.

Mead's Abby Glynn also tallied a great day, finishing third in the 100, second in the 400 - running 57.25, and winning the 300 hurdles in 44.60. Hot on her heels in the hurdles was Mackenzie Fidelak, who finished second in 45.19.

In the 800 Madison Mooney continued her streak of top-tier performances. Mooney was in a league of her own, winning in 2:12.32. Behind her Niwot freshman Taylor James ran a huge PR to finish second in 2:16.29, just ahead of Lauren Neugeboren, who finished third in 2:17.92.

Katelyn Mitchem duplicated the feat in the 1,600, winning with a dominating 5:07. Claudia Burgess was four-seconds back in 5:11.
In the high jump Rylee Anderson inched out with the win in 5-7, just ahead of James, who finished second in 5-5.
