Bringing The Heat To Jeffco Stadium

Anna Hall won the high jump in a meet record of 5-8.

Anna Hall cleared the final hurdle of the 100 hurdle prelims with ease and powered through the finish line with business-like strides. After crossing the white line she slowed to a walk and temporarily placed her hands on her hips as she took deep breaths. Her poker-face remained in tact as the Valor Christian junior quickly turned left and made her way off the track and back to the high jump where she still had work to do.
Hall leading a band of chasers was a common theme over the weekend at the Jeffco League Championships, as she claimed four titles. Several hours after her 100 prelim win she blasted a 41.80 to lead her 300 hurdle prelim. A day later she won the 100 hurdles in 14.38, and the 300 in 42.0. And her domination of the hurdles clearly wasn't enough, because Hall also claimed the high jump with ease in 5-8, and won the long jump in a new 4A No. 1 mark of 19-0.75. Adding her frightening rule over the long jump was that it was only the second time she's competed in the event this season, and a personal best by over half a foot.

When the sun had set to the west Saturday evening Hall's name would appear on top of the 4A state rankings five times. Clearly, Hall, like many others, were just getting comfortable on the track at Jeffco Stadium, as state is just a week and a half away...
