Course Records May Fall At Vista Nation 2 Mile

The Vista Nation 2-Mile Invitational is celebrating its fourth year Friday.

In the meet's short existence, it's played host to some of the best runners in the state. This year looks no different.

On paper it's already billing up to be a massive, massive clash of Colorado titans, but before we get into names and the what-ifs, let's look at the fastest times run on the course, because they're likely to fall.

Quinn McConnell owns the girl's course record with an 11:33. Perhaps even more impressive is that when she ran - and won - the race last year, she took down eventual 5A state champion Jenna Fitzsimmons by nine seconds.

The top-seven times run on the course were recorded last year. Anyone interested in sneaking into the top 10 will need to go sub 12:25, and when looking at the 2018 edition of the race, I see a major shakeup in this list coming.
