Week 8 Coaches Poll: Boys

Fort Collins and Fairvew are battling for the middle spots of 5A heading into the final weeks before State.

Dakota Ridge proved to be perhaps the best team in the state, likewise, Niwot, Peak to Peak, and Heritage Christian remained in control of their classifications this week.

We're two weeks out from the big show. Let the shuffling begin...

5A

Dakota Ridge gave the state even more proof that they are the real deal. For the second consecutive week they remain on top of 5A, following a dominating win at the Fountain-Fort Carson/TCA Cross Country Invitational that saw them put their entire top seven into the top 14, and their top five into the top 10.

There was no shuffling within the top five, but the backside of the rankings had a little game of musical chairs, with Fairview and Pine Creek make a few leaps north.

4A

Niwot maintained its hold over the state this week, behind them there was some shuffling, however. Durango and Air Academy made moves, with the western slope squad claiming the No. 2 spot this week.

Battle Mountain and Thompson Valley were new to the rankings this week, coming in No. 9 and 10.

3A

The top spots in 3A remain the most solid in the state, led by Peak to Peak's No. 1 ranking. While they remain soundly in their spots, preparing for battle, behind them the door appears open, and making the biggest leap into the rankings this week was Moffat, who was previously unranked, but landed in the No. 7 spot this week.

2A

The storyline remains the same here, led by Heritage Christian, Lyons, and Peyton. But the main story in 2A this week was three previously unranked squads making the top eight.

Golden View, Clear Creek, and Sargent made an appearance this week, just two weeks before the state meet.
