Not only will we see a battle of the freshmen-phenoms with Cameron McConnell and Riley Stewart, but two titans of 5A will battle it out one week before the Big Dance.
No. 2 Cherokee Trail will take on No. 3 Cherry Creek.
These two squads have been firmly in their No. 2 and No. 3 rankings all season. On paper nine of the fastest 10 in the region come from a team that starts with "CH," so this will be a battle likely decided nearly as soon as the fifth runner crosses the line.
On paper Cherokee Trail has a solid edge with five ahead of Cherry Creek's three, though this is championship season, and wild things happen with the race is the line.
