Two Cyclones Earn Runner of the Week Honors

Guor Marial and Lisa Koll (Iowa State) have been named Big 12 Cross Country Runners of the Week. It is the first conference weekly award for Marial and second for Koll.

MEN
Guor Marial, Iowa State, Sr., Concord, N.H.
Marial was the runner-up in his fourth and final Roy Griak Invitational. His time of 24:50 led the Cyclones to a first-place finish, the fourth title for the ISU men’s team at the meet. This marked the first competition for Marial since the 2008 NCAA Cross Country Championships, where he finished 38th.

WOMEN
Lisa Koll, Iowa State, Sr., Fort Dodge, Iowa
Koll led the Cyclone women’s team to its first Roy Griak Invitational team championship with her second-place time of 21:12. ISU is the first Big 12 women’s team to take the tournament title. The meet was the first for Koll since coming in 18th at the 2007 NCAA Championships and redshirting the 2008 season.
