Fort Hays St - Tiger Open
The Colorado School of Mines men were dominant here, taking home the meet title as well as three of the top four places. Only Joe Bosshard of the University of Colorado (first, 24:09, 8K) prevented a 1-2-3 sweep for the Oredigger men.
On the women's side, it was a meet title for the University of Northern Colorado, who edged out the women from the Air Force Academy 46-51. Individual honors went to Laura Thweatt of the University of Colorado, however, with a winning time of 17:05 for 5K under miserable conditions. Second place went to Sydney Laws of Colorado School of Mines in 18:15. Mines also had the highest team finish among DII schools. Kellie Callahan was the top finisher for the UNC women.

Mesa State's Alexis Skarda continued her reign of domination over DII Colorado women, posting a 40-second victory over 6K with a time of 22:44. Fort Lewis College managed to take home their own meet title, however, with a 10-point margin over UCCS. Mesa State did not run a complete team at the meet.
For the men, it was a welcome bit of success for a very young UCCS team who won the meet by 11 points over Fort Lewis. Alejandro Troncoso of Fort Lewis took individual honors in 26:40, but UCCS's Mike English edged Troncoso's teammate for second. Fort Lewis had no answer for the pack of UCCS runners that followed.
