Lowe and Barringer Earn Runner of the Week Honors

Colby Lowe (Oklahoma State) and Jenny Barringer (Colorado) have been named Big 12 Cross Country Runners of the Week. It is the first conference weekly award for Lowe and third for Barringer.

MEN
Colby Lowe, Oklahoma State, So., Southlake, Texas
Lowe won the 10k individual title at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, Ark., his first career individual championship. His winning time of 29:30.9 was a large factor in the Cowboys winning the team title over competition that included Oklahoma, Arkansas and Virginia Tech. Lowe pulled away from the field with a mile to go and crossed the finish line just ahead of two teammates. He has finished in the top 10 in all but one of his career races.

WOMEN
Jenny Barringer, Colorado, Sr., Oviedo, Fla.
Barringer earned her second individual victory of the season and led the No. 19 Buffaloes to a first-place finish at the NCAA Pre-National Invitations in Terra Haute, Ind. She ran the fastest time of any of the three women’s 6K races with a final of 19:50.9, almost 30 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor. CU defeated No. 4 Oregon and No. 11 Florida State to take the team title.
