Colorado Track XC to Expand Coverage in 2012

If you liked what we brought you in 2011, be sure to come back in 2012--there's more to come!

Colorado Track XC will be back in 2012 with wall-to-wall coverage of track and field, cross country, and snowshoe in 2012. For the month of January alone, we have the following on-site coverage lined up:

January 7 - Fort Collins Track Club Indoor Invitational (Boulder)

Janurary 15 - Air Force Indoor High School Invitational (USAFA)

January 21 - Fastest Coach in the State Race (Lyons)

January 29 - Martin Luther King, Jr., Mile-High Invitational (USAFA)

As usual, we'll be posting results of all meets for which we can get our hands on the results.

Then, in February, we'll be spending two Saturdays in Frisco doing coverage of the Colorado high school snowshoe championships on February 11, and then the national showshoe championship race two weeks later on the same course. But first, we need a little more snow to fall in Summit County ....

Ah, details!

February is the month when National Letter of Intent signings start coming in fast and furious. We'll try to stay ahead of that torrent. You let me know, and I'll post them!

February will also be filled with previews of the upcoming CHSAA track and field season. We'll be looking long and hard at who's loaded and who just might surprise. Can the reigning champions repeat? What state records are in jeopardy this spring?

Starting on March 10, we'll be neck deep in actual coverage of track and field meets across the state. We should have our typically solid Front Range coverage and, I'm trusting, dramatically improved coverage for the western slope as well. We'll be shooting and posting video from many of those meets. And, as the one who writes most of the articles that appear on this site, I can assure you that writing about meets is a lot more fun than sitting at the table trying to think of article ideas when there are no meets to cover. It's also a lot more fun to pick through meet photos for an article cover than to create some sort of graphic to use as an attention grabber.

You, the Colorado Track XC audience, made 2011 easily the biggest year yet for this site. That includes every metric imaginable--people, page views, page views per person, largest single day, largest single month, etc. All of us who have a part in making this site happen thank you for your continued, and growing, support. And, when you see a local advertisement or a sponsored article, please take that as an invitation to patronize that business as a way of saying thanks for the coverage they help to make possible.

Thank you for a fabulous 2011. I hope you like 2012 even more. See you at the meets!

It should be fun.
