Boys sprints should be very exciting this year given most of the top sprinters are back.
I know this was an article using indoor results to predict how the outdoor season will go in Colorado, but for a state that doesn't have an official indoor track season Colorado is more than holding its own on the national rankings. Just perusing both the male and female sides of the 60 meter dash on the National list so far Colorado has 6 and 8 members respectively on those lists. And the Colorado Flyers sent an all star female 4x200 relay team that consisted of a member of the Valor team, the GW team, the Smoky Hill team and a Denver East team into the heart of Texas and surprised the Houston crowd at the Carl Lewis High School Invitational. Coach,
Always, always,
ALWAYS feel welcome to post this kind of thing on this site. Wow, that was fun to watch!
By the way, I think we need more announcing at meets in Colorado. I really like the feel it adds to the event. I can only think of a couple of Colorado meets where I've heard announcing like we heard on that video.

As well as girls sprints...
This could be a banner year (and next year too) with the likes of the Colorado Flyers group; MaryBeth, Chyna, Zainab, Sierra Vaden, Tiana Porter, along with (of course) Ana Holland, Christine Scott, Dior Hall, and Sierra Williams, as well as the emerging Emily Romo (my apologies if I've missed anyone). Several of these girls have already broken 12 seconds in the 100 and run 23-25 seconds in the 200. Could we see some 11.5's and 23.5's this year? Are the records set by Caryl Smith, Aleisha Latimer, and Aspen Burkett in jeopardy? If not this year, then next (as most of these girls are underclassmen)?
I, for one, can't wait!
The girls side of the sprints is amazing.
Back in 2003-2004, Ashley Owens was incredible but she was the one of the very few that could run at that speed.
Now there are many girls running sub 12 100m and sub 25 sec 200m.
Very exciting year coming up.

I agree! A little announcing goes a long way. I think we can all remember the Valor Meet in 2010 that had a cool announcer. My athletes still know what I mean when I say "MMMMMMMuscle Milk!"
The CARA state meet in Longmont at the end of July has a pretty cool announcer too.
