In a league that graduated a lot of star power last spring, Isaiah Sanford is one of a relatively few established veterans coming back this year.

Cherokee Trail has, more or less, had the run of this league for a few years, but it's never quite a runaway. Nor will it be this year.

Grandview is an ever-present threat. Other threats emanate chiefly from Cherry Creek and Arapahoe. And, this one is always a very competitive league. It won't be anything different this spring, even if we do not in CT's direction as the early favorites.

Top returning individuals from around the league include Blaize Holland, Dillon Andrews, KJ Sapp, Ruben Estrada, and Rylan Wallace (Cherokee Trail), Aaron Harris, Caleb Randolph, Hayden Blubaugh, and Robert Moss (Grandview), Cyprien Toffa, Daniel Hamson, and Kyle Moran (Cherry Creek), Andrew Jorgenson, Griffin Hampton, and Micah Conley (Arapahoe), Jalen Martin (Eaglecrest), Isaiah Sanford (Smoky Hill), and Cameron Murray and Paulison Fosu (Overland).

A listing of the top 20 freshmen by ranking from cross country last fall is included at the bottom. Breaking into the scoring as a freshman in this league isn't necessarily easy, though it is still within the realm of the possible. These would be the guys to do it if it is to be done.

2016 co HS M Outdoor Track Team Scores (Returners Only)

Calculated as of February 19, 2017

These rankings were calculated by scoring the rankings as a meet. We scored 20 deep for individuals only. Individuals ranked 1st place received 20 points for their team, on down to 1 point for 20th place.

Athletes whose graduation years are unknown were left out of the list.

Cross Country Freshmen

It is interesting that Overland fares as well as they do in the freshman analysis. In recent years, Overland has struggled some with the distance program, but there is definite potential for turning the tide with this year's freshman class.
