There have been big doings across the region the last couple of weeks. Get caught up here!

I wasn't able to cobble together the time to get this done and written last week, so this week's edition will include two weekends instead of one. And, as a result, I will be a bit more selective about which meets make the cut for discussion in this article. The rest of the format, however, will remain the same. We'll start in Nevada and work our way counter-clockwise around the region.

So, fasten your seatbelts and let's go for a ride!

UNLV Invitational - September 23

Centennial's girls ride roughshod over the local competition again. Centennial, though, had nobody under 20 minutes on a reasonably fast course. It does appear, though, that Centennial was down a couple of their top runners. Green Valley triumphs on the boys side.

Reed Invitational - September 22

This course seems to have a history of slower times. I'm not personally familiar with the course, but its history suggests it tends toward the tougher end of the spectrum. The usual Reno-area suspects prevailed at this one. Damonte Ranch takes the girls side and Spanish Springs absolutely dominates the boys side. I think it's about time to start thinking seriously of Spanish Springs as a legitimate regional championship race team.
