New Mexico's Kashon Harrison barely outdueled Colorado's Cole Sprout in the cool of the Arizona night at Desert Twilight.

It's time for another tour of the Southwest region to check up on the performances of the top teams around the region.

It should go without saying that Desert Twilight was the big meet within the region this past weekend. In addition to drawing everything that runs from inside the state of Arizona, the meet also brought in a nice cross section of Colorado teams and slightly less robust count of New Mexico teams as well.

But, we'll get to Desert Twilight in its own turn. As per our custom, we start in Nevada and work our way around in counter-clockwise fashion.

NEVADA

It would be nice to have more to report from Nevada, but things seem to have gone dark for results from across the Silver State over the past week. We do know that Bishop Gorman made the trip to Desert Twilight but, with the possible exception of the individual performance of Emilia Puskas, didn't show anything that might rise to the level of championship race potential in another seven weeks. But, it's nice that Bishop Gorman is invested enough to show up and make a run. That's the sort of stuff that raises the level of the team.
