Ben Kelley is on top of the 800 and the 1,600.

The landscape of 2A is a mixed bag of favorites, and races-too-close-to-call. We're a month out from state and now every time and every inch will come into play with qualifying for the big dance.

In the sprints Ty Grant holds a slight lead in the 100, and the 200, while Patrick Scoggins is No. 1 in the 400.
Enter: Ben Kelley.
Kelley is on four lists here - the 400, 800, 1,600, and the 3,200. He tops the charts in the 800 and 1,600, and is No. 2 in the 400 and the 3,200 - talk about a spread. There's a possibility that Kelley claims four state titles...
We'll return to this topic in another month.
In order for him to do so, however, he'll have to beat Scoggins in the 300, and Isaac Roberts in the 3,200.
Dominating the hurdles is Jacob Yates, who tops the charts in the 110 and the 300 hurdles.
In the throws
Darrin Young is No. 1in the shot by two feet, while Lane Walter holds a dominating 24-feet lead over his nearest competitor in the discus.
The jumps appears to be two events that will come down to the inches. Victor Mendoza leads the long jump by a few inches, and Chiante' Stewart holds a slim lead in the triple jump.
The high jump looks similar, with two who have gone 6-5 over over. Grant Redmond tops the charts here at 6-6.
Likewise, the pole vault has two over 13 feet, led by Mikey Mikita.
