We've been talking about how good Mountain Vista is all season, and let's be honest, they deserve it. Vista Nation has four sub 17:51 5k runners, and all seven have run under 18:45 this season. And I'm talking about times run in Colorado.

That'd be an incredible feat for anyone school at from sea-level...

Led by defending state champ - and winner of the 17-18 triple crown - Jenna Fitzsimmons, it's hard to talk about anyone stopping, or even keeping pace with the girl's in green.

Cherokee Trail is an incredible team this year, but even as good as they are, Mountain Vista's top four of Fitzsimmons, Madison ReedCaroline Eck, and Sarah O'Sullivan have run faster than Cherokee Trail's second runner, Caitlin McConnell, who, like her team, is another stellar runner with top-10 potential.

And perhaps the best option for Cherokee Trail is to keep more of a watchful eye on the girl's in blue and red: Cherry Creek.

Led by freshman Riley Stewart, Cherry Creek nabbed the upset victory at the Region 1 championships, beating out their region-rival 31-38. Clearly, they're rounding into shape right in time to make a run for that runner-up spot.

And let's be honest, finishing second to Mountain Vista holds the same amount of excitement as winning a state title.

It's hard not to talking about the individual race while talking about the team race, because they blend soo easily.

Back to Fitzsimmons...
