Dear Coach,

Greeley Central High School will be hosting a state qualifying track meet on Friday April 21 at the District 6 Stadium in Greeley Colorado. We are excited to again host a meet that should be an outstanding, highly competitive, early season boys and girls meet. District 6 Stadium has a fast, 8 lane, all-weather track which has produced outstanding times in past meets. In addition the stadium has recently been updated to a synthetic turf infield. The meet will start with all throws beginning at 2:30. All other field events and all running events will begin at 3:30. This year we are working on an elevated runway in the middle of the field for pole vault. We are looking for great weather and the sun does not set until 7:44 PM. We also will be running later events under the lights.
Each team will be allowed 3 entries per individual event and one team per relay event. Prelims and finals will be held in the 100m dash, the 200m dash and the 100m / 110m hurdles. All other running events will be contested as finals, with heats against time. The pole vault, high jump, and javelin events will also be contested as finals. The long jump, triple jump, shot put, and discus will be contested as prelims and finals. Each athlete will receive three attempts in the prelims with the top nine (9) advancing to the finals. Medals will be awarded for 1st place and ribbons for 2nd – 6th place. Trophies will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place teams. As in past years we will be contesting the boy’s and girl’s javelin throw using rubber tipped javelins. Javelin will be a scoring event.

The entry fee is $250.00 for both boys and girls teams or $ 125.00 for only boys or only girls. We will also allow select individuals for an entry fee of $10.00 per person.

You may also use e-mail to inform me whether you plan to attend or not. If your team is planning on attending please return the enclosed contract and your entry fee to assure your teams spot in the meet. We plan on limiting the meet to the 25 teams. Teams that attended the meet in 2015 will be given first priority provided their entry is received prior to January 15th. After that, it will be first come first serve until the meet is filled. We will notify the acceptance of your team into the meet as as soon as your invitation letter and your payment is received.
