Tell us a little about what drew you in to UNC...

When I visited UNC earlier this fall I loved everything about it. The coaches were welcoming and personable and the girls were all so nice, I could see myself excelling in a program like theirs. Also the campus was beautiful and had everything I was looking for in a school.

What do you plan to study at UNC?

I have two majors in mind but haven’t decided on which one yet. I’m hoping to either study elementary education or exercise science in the hopes of becoming a physical therapist.

You've been part of a group of girls at Ralston Valley who have seen an increasing amount of success as you've progressed through high school. Tell us something about you and your teammates that makes things special.

My teammates and I are so close; when I first joined cross country and track I never imagined I would form friendships like I have with them. We all get along so well and have built long lasting memories together. Although I’m looking forward to going to UNC, I’m going to miss them a lot.

You run cross country in the fall, but focus mostly on the 400 and 800 in track. I'm guessing some relays figure in there as well. What's your favorite event among those?

My favorite event is the 800; it’s the perfect mixture of speed and endurance for me. Next to the 800 I also love doing relays of any sort, I love being able to run with my teammates and the atmosphere that comes with running relays.

Pick a favorite moment for us out of your high school career to date.

My favorite moment in my high school career to date would have to be getting on the podium in the 4x400 relay my freshman year. We had an incredible relay team with two seniors on it, and after a disappointing turn of events in the 4x800 we were hoping to do well in the 4x400. We snagged the ninth spot in prelims and then we ended up getting fifth in finals. It was the perfect way to end my freshman year!

Are there any goals that have eluded you so far in high school that you're aiming at for this spring?

There are two goals in high school that have eluded me so far that I’m hoping to accomplish this spring. After being part of an unlucky series of events in the 800 at the state meet last year I am hoping to first set a new personal best and second get to state this upcoming season and get on the podium. Also my teammates and I are hoping to get on the podium for the 4x800 relay this year after being only two spots off last season and the season before.
