One of the best things about having no coaching responsibilities at a meet is being able to watch the events with an eye tuned more toward appreciation than competition. Sometimes having a camera in your face gets in the way full appreciation of the track meet, but the rewards come later when you start seeing things that happen too fast for the appreciative eye to notice.
Lighting is always an ordeal with indoor track and field, and many good images are lost on account of issues related to lighting. But, there's usually a collection of decent images to enjoy at the end of the day nevertheless.
