As you peruse the lists linked below, you'll notice something new. Actually, a lot of somethings new. You'll notice athletes who weren't necessarily anywhere near this close to the top of the rankings at any time last year. And, that's a big part of the fun of a new season of track and field.

Enjoy reading these over, but don't get too settled in your thinking. It's still only the end of March, and there were plenty of inactive athletes last weekend. Next week's list might look a lot different.
