Ortega Middle School is hosting the 2nd Annual Middle School Track and Field Championships to be held in Alamosa, Colorado at Alamosa High School Stadium on May 12th. "This year we want to open it up to every middle school in the state that has posted marks that are on co.milesplit," states Cynthia Valerio, Ortega Middle School Athletic Director. Valerio continues, "We are hoping to get the best track and field athletes in middle school to come together and make this a high-powered meet, and hopefully it will get better every year."
Tuesday, May 12th is the date. The meet will be hosted in the new track and field facility at Alamosa High School. There will be a coaches meeting at 4:00 and field events will begin at 4:15, with running events to follow at 5:00.
The top three in each event will receive awards, with first-place finishers receiving a t-shirt. How to register and other information can be found in the attached letter from Cynthia Valerio.
