Colter/Rainsberger Showdowns Loom

You've probably wondered, and maybe even aloud, "Will Katie Rainsberger and Jordyn Colter ever actually get to race each other on the track?"

The answer to that question is a resounding, "Yes!" It just won't happen in Colorado, and you may have to settle for a best-two-out-of-three instead of a winner-takes-all.

Both are slated to appear this Friday in the Pre Classic High School Girls Elite Mile. There should be a whole lot of Colorado interest in that one.

Their next meeting, however, could be clear across the nation on June 13 in New York at the adidas Dream Mile. Katie Rainsberger is currently confirmed for that one, though--at last report--Colter is not yet definitely in.

But, no matter if that one doesn't materialize. There will be another.

Both are entered for the girls mile at the Brooks PR meet in Seattle, Washington, on June 20. And, hey, that would take them back to the west coast again!

Interestingly, this series of meetings could outnumber all previous times that Colter and Rainsberger have shared the same starting line. The list of those events stops at two, including this year's Arcadia Invitational where Colter finished first and Rainsberger third in the elite mile (both under 4:48) and the 2013 Liberty Bell Invitational 1600 where Colter took first and Rainsberger second.

So, enjoy this little series of showdowns. What we'll see over the next month is far from what we've grown accustomed to!
