USATF Hershey Youth Outdoor Track and Field Championships Wrap Up (udpated)

Nearly a week after the USATF Hershey Youth Outdoor Track and Field Championships began, the concluded today in Lisle, Illinois.

While it was a quiet day for Colorado in terms of number of entries, it was anything but quiet in terms of results.

On the final day of competition, Colorado claimed two individual titles in two of the four events for which we had remaining entries.

Julia Hall won the 17-18 400 meters with a time of 55.50. That time left second place more than a second-and-a-half in arrears.

A few moments later, Chantae Steele pounded the 13-14 Girls 1500 field with a time of 4:47.60, well over five seconds ahead of second. The time marks an enormous PR for this fall's incoming freshman.

Earlier in the day, and I apologize for overlooking these results in the first pass over this article, Simone Watkins posted a sixth in the 13-14 400 with a time of 58.40. Two days earlier, she qualified for finals with a 57.60. Anna Hall finished sixth in the 13-14 100 hurdles at 15.93 (1.8) after running 15.66 (1.8) to get to finals.
