Flo50 No. 5 Katie Rainsberger of Air Academy, Co. ran the nation's third-fastest 5k time this year in 17:05.08 at the Coronado Cougar Classic, an unofficial course record.

The Girls Division I race had two bikers - one to lead Rainsberger and one to lead the rest of the field, such is the senior's dominance. She finished more than two minutes clear of the field.

The time is also historically significant in that it garnered a 160.3 Speed Rating. For comparison, no other girl this season has achieved a speed rating higher than 155. Last year, it took a 164 for Anna Rohrer to win Foot Locker Nationals and 155 for Allie Ostrander to win NXN.

Disclaimer: Speed Ratings are far more accurate within the state of New York than anywhere else. Read more about Speed Ratings here.

According to Alan Versaw of CO MileSplit, "Rainsberger intends to return to Desert Twilight in Arizona next week. She ran a winning time of 16:41.62 last year at the event."
