As the final day of competition at the Simplot Games draws to a close, Colorado athletes are bringing home a wagon load of gold. The parade of titleists includes Dominick Roberts at 400 meters, Mason Finley in the shot put, Joe Morris at 60 meters, and Michael Hancock in the 60-meter hurdles.
There has also been a series of near-misses for Colorado athletes, including a second in the 200 for Dominick Roberts, a second in the 800 for Charles White, a third in the pole vault for Elizabeth Stover, a second for A. J. Whitaker in the 60, a second in the 1600 for Henry Cowhick, and a third in the 800 for Alex Weinheimer.
