Fresh off a 4:36 effort at New Balance Nationals Indoor, Katie Rainsberger pulled away from the Longmont Invitational field in dramatic fashion and smashed the Colorado all-time 1600 meter record set just last spring by Jordyn Colter.
Colter's mark, set at the state meet, was 4:46.22. Rainsberger took nearly two seconds off that record with a 4:44.31:
