Where Are We This Year Versus Last Year's State-Qualifying Standards? 3A Girls

Taryn Ceglowski unleashed a wicked second lap of her 800 at Palmer at Saturday that might help a few folks to understand why she's also leading the 3A Girls 400 rankings at this time. Photo by Alan Versaw.

3A Girls, like every other classification and gender we've looked at, still has yet to have an event's #18 mark from this year eclipse the end-of-season #18 mark from last year. But, a handful of events are starting to approach that standard.

In the table below, the middle column shows what it took to have a top-18 standing last year heading into the state track meet. The right-hand column shows the current location of the #18 position in the 3A Girls rankings for each event.

And, for those involved in the chase to get to a top-18 mark over the course of the season, this will give you a very good--though not perfect--idea of how much to expect those marks to move between now and the middle of May.

This analysis will be updated at least twice over the remainder of the season.
