National Weekend Rundown for May 7

Katie Rainsberger Runs No. 5 All-Time in 1500m!

Oregon commit Katie Rainsberger ran 4:14.2 for 1500m on Friday night at the Oregon Twilight to finish a close second behind the Nike Oregon Project's Treniere Moser (4:13.59).

The time ranks No. 5 all-time in U.S. prep standings. Last weekend, fellow high school seniors Christina Aragon and Ella Donaghu added their names to the record books with 1500m marks of 4:11 and 4:15, now No. 4 and No. 7 all-time, respectively.

Rainsberger defeated a slew of seasoned pros, including third-placer Jordan Hasay, whose 4:15 high school best is the mark that Rainsberger bypassed tonight on the all-time list.

She said after the race that she is unsure where she might race Aragon and Donaghu, both of whom are Stanford commits. She is planning to race the Portland Track Festival on the June 11-12 weekend and then the USATF Junior Championships during the last weekend of June.

Next up for Rainsberger, the New Balance Nationals Indoor mile champion (4:37), is her final Colorado state meet.
