We've already had one major piece of news regarding a coaching change for next school year. This is the second such piece of news, and I'm pretty sure we're not done yet.

The Palmer Ridge High School cross country and track coach has accepted the offer of a new position at Niwot High School. The position includes both counseling and head coach responsibilities for cross country. Christensen figures to be involved with track and field as well, though the specifics of that have not been worked out at this time.

Christensen cited family connections as an important draw of the position at Niwot, "The biggest reason I am taking this position is to be closer to what I consider my support group, that will allow me to take better care of myself." Christensen himself did not actively seek out the Niwot position but mentioned that, "sometimes the phone rings and you find yourself on a new path."

Prior to taking the position at Palmer Ridge, where Christensen won one state cross country title and one state track and field title as a head coach, Christensen had assistant coaching stints at University and Thompson Valley.
