No further questioning of Mountain Vista or Palmer Ridge is being countenanced. Don't even ask.

When you go to Woodbridge and take 1-2, it has a way of drying up the questions.

And, that's where Mountain Vista and Palmer Ridge are right now. Woodbridge champions and runners up. Where a lot of other folks, starting with Great Oak, only wish they were.

For Mountain Vista, a big part of the difference last week to this was refinding the real Joshua Romine. After a finish at St. Vrain last week where Romine simply seemed out of step, he placed ninth overall and fifth in the team scoring to pace the Vista Nation effort. Carter Dillon was one team point behind, both at 14:32, on the blazing fast, flat, sea-level course.

Parker Mackay and Chris Lovejoy both clocked in at under 15 minutes. A net total of 99 points constituted the Mountain Vista team score--and that in a field of 26 highly-ranked teams.

The story was little different in the Palmer Ridge camp.

This time, it was Andrew Lester and Jeremy Meadows leading at 14:38, Andrew Rudnicki and Ryan Matson rounded out the sub-15 group.

By way of comparison, Southwest region rivals Desert Vista ran fourth and Desert Hills ran seventh.

Over on the girls side of the Sweepstakes racing, Brie Oakley won the individual title in 15:53. Mountain Vista finished fourth with a team led by freshmen Sarah O'Sullivan.and Jenna Fitzsimmons, both under 17 minutes. Regional rival Desert Vista claimed the team title with a scant 49 points.
