Nobody is ever going to mistake the Air Force Holiday Open for the high point of the season, but it does fill a few pretty important functions for a lot of athletes. For most, it's the first time since spring--or at least sometime in summer--to hear and respond to the report of the starter's pistol, to get a little practice in, and to start feeling the adrenaline that's been mostly dormant for the past few months.

For some, there were eye-popping performances. For others, there were little reminders that it may take a while, and a few practice reps, before they're really back on top of their games.
