There was a noticeable crowd reaction on Friday night when Emily Sloan from Rock Canyon dropped her 14.21 prelim time. She followed up on Saturday with a 14:01 effort in the finals to take the win over Semaye Johnson from Pomona. Marcus Howard from DSST was sixth in prelims, but scored a bit of an upset victory in the 110 finals, winning in 14.93.

Taylor Watson from Cherokee Trail scored the win in the 100m as the wind finally cooperated on legality in 12.27. Overland girls won the 4x100 in convincing fashion. ShyTe'yana Davis, Jaivion Lattimore, Krista Rhodes and Julyah Wilson won in 48.78, almost a second faster than second place Elizabeth.

If you were looking for surprise wins in the 300m, you needed to keep looking. Anna Hall from Valor Christian took care of business with her 43.10. Cody Harris blew away the boys field in 39.27.

In the 400m, Lily Williams from Grandview led six girls under sixty seconds, winning in 57.57. The boys 400m field saw two scratches, but there were still four boys under the 50 second mark. Jonathan Rodriguez from Weld Central led the charge in 49.47.
