You've probably already heard about GinAsia Hamilton. Get used to hearing more about her.

And, she has some pretty quick teammates, most notably fellow freshman Chelsie Horton.

Together, these two posted 52 points in the 100, 200, and 400 combined. Widefield also won the 4 X 100, and finished second in both the 4 X 200 and 4 X 400. That accounted for 78 of Widefield's meet-winning 94 points.Hamilton's 12.43 puts her, at least for the time being, at the top of the girls 100 meter rankings for Colorado.

It seems safe to suggest Widefield's strength lies in the sprint events.

Second place went to The Classical Academy with 87.5 points, followed closely by Pine Creek. The Classical Academy spread their points out across several events, but earned only two first places on the day: Kaitlin Hanenburg in the 800 and the 4 X 400 relay.

Besides Hamilton, the only other multiple event winners were Kiah Hicks of Falcon in the shot put (36-0) and discus (120-4), and Rampart's Sara Benson in the hurdle events (14.95 and 45.97).

On the boys' side of the ledger Fountain-Fort Carson ran away with the meet title by a margin of nearly 40 points. Jamarius Mathis swept the throwing events (53-6.25 and 149-6). Brock Emory made it look easy in the 110 Hurdles (14.99), and the Trojans added victories in the 4 X 400 and 4 X 800 relays.

Other multiple event winners included Chris Ganem of Castle View in the 800 and 1600, Derek McAllister of Widefield in the 200 and 400, and Aldric Brown of Castle View in the high jump and long jump. Aaron Friedland won the 3200 for Castle View, giving the Sabercats a complete set of distance titles.

Kenneth Chambers of Doherty turned in arguably the best performance of the day in winning the 100 in 10.76. Chambers built his lead over the first 30 meters and was not threatened the rest of the way.

Kevin Schwindt of TCA went to the head of the class in the 3A pole vault with a 13-6 clearance.
