Cole before the 2017 NXN meet

Cole Sprout is one of the top distance runners in the country. Sprout runs for Valor Christian High School just outside of Denver, Colorado.

During his sophomore cross country season, he won the Class 4A boys Colorado State Cross Country Championships clocking in a 15:42.10. He then went on to place second at the NXN Southwest Region meet just behind eventual NXN champion Aidan Troutner from Timpvew, Utah. At NXN Sprout placed 21st, making him one of the top returning guys on the cross country course this year.

His track season was also remarkable as he set the sophomore class national record for 3000m with an 8:13.85. He was also the Colorado state champion in both the 3200m and 1600m. The rising junior finished second at Brooks PR Invitational in the 2-mile with a time of  8:49.46.
