5A Girls: Fitzsimmons And Mountain Vista Reign

While Mountain Vista's 1-2-3 punch of 1-6-10 was already enough to practically seal the deal in Colorado's largest classification, the depth of their squad proved once again to be insanely impressive.

Caroline Eck, and Makenna Anderson finished 12th, and 21st to put Vista Nation over the top with a staggering 44 points.

While it was expected that the No. 2 team in the country would come away with a victory, what happened behind them was more up for grabs.

The Cherry Creek verses Cherokee Trail battle starring the two freshmen-phenoms of McConnell and Stewart was close, though it was the girls from the 'Creek who duplicated their regional success to come out ahead of Cherokee Trail.

Stewart's fifth place finish was complimented by freshman teammate Shelby Balding, who finished 14th, and Lauren Lapporte, who was one spot back in 15th, and Erin Smith's 24th place finish.

While Cherokee Trail had the better 1-2 punch from the McConnell sisters, it was Cherry Creek's 2-3-4 that made the difference.

Cherry Creek took the runner-up spot with 88 points, just ahead of Cherokee Trail's 107.
