Q) Talk about the recruitment process - what other schools were you looking at, and how did you come to choosing the University of North Carolina?
The other schools I took official visits to were Boise State, University of Utah, and the University of Wisconsin. For me, it came down to Wisconsin and UNC. It was a really tough choice but I ultimately chose UNC because of the vision Coach McDonough has for rebuilding the program in the next few years.
Q) Did you collectively decide with your sister to go to the same school? Or was there any potential of going separate ways?
There was definitely a potential of going different ways. We decided to make our decision separately and if it happened to be the same school, great, and if not, that was ok too.
Q) What do you plan to study at North Carolina?
I'm not sure what I specifically want to major in yet but I am interested in working in the medical field some day.
Q) You've had success in everything from the 800 on up to the 5k, what event are you planning to focus on at North Carolina?
Right now, I'm planning to focus on the 3K and 5K. The 10K is a possibility but I'm not sure yet.
Q) Could you share any goals you have for the upcoming track season?
My goals for the upcoming track season would be to continue for our 4 X 800 team to win state for the third year in a row. I also want to try to win an individual state championship in the 1600 or 3200.
Q) What would your favorite high school moment be (so far)?
