Q) Talk about the recruitment process - what other schools were you looking at, and how did you come to choosing the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs?

I started talking to some colleges over the summer. Originally I was interested in University of Miami, Mizzou, or School of Mines. I ruled those out eventually because I decided I wanted to stay in state, and that there was no way I'm good enough at math to become an engineer at School of Mines. UCCS was the perfect option for me because it's only 40 minutes from my home town, and everything about their track program and school was a match for what i wanted. I also love the new Indoor facility.

Q) What do you plan to study at UCCS?

I plan on studying business and entrepreneurship. I own a small business so I think that getting a degree in that would help grow the company.

Q) You've had an success in a variety events that span the spectrum of track and field, particularly in the decathlonwhat are you planning to focus on at UCCS?

My main event at UCCS is going to be the 400 meter hurdles. I am still going to be running the 60 hurdles, 110 hurdles, the open 400, and probably a few other things, but they won't be the main focus. I am not sure if I am going to be doing the decathlon or not, it all depends on how the freshman indoor season goes.

Q) What's your favorite track and field event?

My favorite event is definitely the 400 hurdles, even though you feel like dying for 20 minutes after you finish the race.

Q) Could you share any goals you have for the upcoming track season?

My main goals are to run below 14.5 seconds in the 110 hurdles, and under 38 seconds in the 300 hurdles. I also want my boys and girls team to win a state championship for the first time ever.

Q) What would your favorite high school moment be (so far)?

My favorite moment would be running at state last season. It might have been freezing cold and raining but it was really fun to run in, and I had some of my best times of the season.
