The Fastest Coach In The State Race On Tap

Move over Cole Sprout. Move over Jenna Fitzsimmons. This isn't the high school state championships, this is the Coaches State Championships, better known as The Fastest Coach In The State Race.

After watching Colorado's best glide over that freshly cut green grass in Arizona this weekend you've got to be inspired enough to lace up those spikes with the mud still caked on them from your last race years ago, and limp to the starting line.

This is your opportunity to relive those old dreams of kicking down your rival, or winning a state title, or embarrassing yourself in your older age with a shuffle that once was a clean and beautiful stride.

The Fastest Coach In The State Race is just around the corner, so if you haven't run a step since Summer, there's still time to train...

A year ago it took a sub 16 clocking to claim the men's title, and it was Alex Diltz, State Champion, while Jen Byrne, State Champion, took the women's title in 20:23.

While it's obvious with those times that this will be no stroll, this isn't just a race for the coach who can keep pace with their girl's JV squad, this is the race for the coach who can't.

In other words: this is a race for any coach who has trained younglings across the entire state of Colorado.

And the entertainment doesn't stop with those racing, this event provides a unique opportunity for spectators as well...

For athletes this is a chance to scream (and encourage) your coach on. You know, the same coach that added another interval to that workout? The same coach that wouldn't let you off the hook when you were feeling "sick." The same coach that screamed (and encouraged) you through the middle mile of that 5k every race throughout the season.

Now it's time to pay back the love.

So keep the morning of Saturday, December 8 wide open - and for an additional cherry on top, there will be a Footlocker Nationals watch party following the race with coffee and donuts.

It doesn't get much better than this!
