Colorado High School Snowshoe State Champs On Tap

PRESS RELEASE -- On January 26, 2019, Colorado Mountain College in Leadville will host the 9th edition of the Colorado Cup. In addition to the long running 5K Colorado High School Snowshoe State Championship and 10K snowshoe races, the Colorado Mountain College Cross Country Team will host snowshoe sprints, the snowshoe medley relay, a fat bike race, and new to this year: a skate ski Nordic race and kids fun-shoe.

One of the largest snowshoe races in Colorado

Since the beginning of the race in 2010, the Colorado Cup has been one of the largest snowshoe races in Colorado. It has seen many star Colorado prep racers along with nationally known snowshoe stars grace the trails to compete. With the expansion of the race to include fat bikers (2018) and now Nordic skiers, the race will continue to evolve and grow to meet the competitive itch of snow sport enthusiasts in and around Leadville.

Racers compete on the legendary trails of Colorado Mountain College in Leadville. Skate skiers will get first shot at the groomed corduroy, and followed by fat bikers on ski trails and (new this year) single track trails. The 5K and 10K snowshoers will follow the same course as the last three years.
