Red Lining At The Dakota Ridge Invite

In the sprints Luc Andrada proved to be rounding into PR shape. He tallied two wins, both just off his PRs. Andrada ran 10.67 to win the 100 over Brian Mosley, then doubled back to win the 200 in 21.51.

And as dominate as Andrada was in the 100 and 200, Tyrese VanHorne was in the 400. VanHorne ran clear of the field for the first Sub-48 second quarter of the season, running 47.58.

In the mile two cracked 4:30, lead by Ian Kelly. The Heritage senior held off Parker Wolfe to take the win 4:23 to Wolfe's 4:24.

The 3,200 was a historic run by Cole Sprout who ran the first Sub-9 on Colorado soil

Additionally impressive was that Austin Vancil ran 9:08.18, just off the Dakota Ridge school record, and the second fastest time in Colorado this season.

The high quality field ran one of Colorado's deepest 3,200 this season.

Cardenas ran 9:30 to finish third and Seth Bruxvoort ran 9:31 to finish fourth. Nine ran 9:40 or faster, and the top 18 broke 10 minutes.

In the 110 hurdles there wasn't anyone who could keep pace with Cameron Harris. The Brighton senior blitzed the field with a 14.54 clocking.

Bryce Risner continued to ride the wave upwards, as he dipped under 40 seconds for the first time. The Glenwood Springs senior ran 39.37 to win the event over Colin Morrison, who was just inches back in 39.44.

In the high jump Donte Marsh and Morrison both went 6-3, while Daryon Wilson was a clear winner in the long with a 22--6 win.

The triple jump was a much closer competition with Darius Cheatom and Justin Alter both going over 43 feet. Cheatom took the W by a quarter of an inch with a 43-7.25 jump.

In the pole vault the show belonged to Wyatt Nelson. The Battle Mountain senior was the lone vaulter over 14 feet, winning in 14-4.

In the throws The Kain Medrano came, saw, and conquered the competition in the discus. The Pueblo East senior won the discus in 192-10, though he was beaten by Cian Quiroga in the shot put. The Valor Christian senior won the shot 56-7.25 to Medrano's 55-5.75.
