Charles Nnantah Jr. ran the second fastest 300H in the state with his 38.06 victory.
In the 100 Jackson Connelly has continued his ascent into the realm of Colorado's best sprinters. The Regis junior took down a stellar field that included Sterling Brassfield, Maxwell Lofy, Zion Gordon, Kade Christensen, Korey Hairston, and Nathaniel Ansah.
If you're counting out how many names I just wrote down the answer is eight - because that 100 was stacked.
Connelly ran a hundredth of a second off his personal best to beat the field to the line in 10.86.
In the 200 Keirryse Simpson was feeling that PR speed, but came just short of the feat. Regardless, the Denver East senior won the event in 21.77 - that's No. 3 in Colorado, and it was just ahead of Lofy's 21.92.
Langston Williams was the name in the 400. The Eaglecrest sophomore was the lone sub-50 performance in the finals, clocking in at 49.05.
Typically the distance events have a winner decided well before the line, given the amount of real estate the events have, but not here...
The 800 was a burner with Levi Kilian pushing Yasin Sado all the way to the line. Sado was able to squeak out the win in 1:54.27 - the No. 4 time in Colorado, and No. 1 in 3A. But put all of 1A on alert, because Kilian's 1:55.34 is a clear state leader, and it's No. 7 in all-classifications.
Likewise, the 1,600 quickly turned into a kicker's affair with David Cardenas solidifying his spot among the conversation of the state's best.
Yonas Mogos lead the pack through a modest pace to open the race before Asher Hoyt took the reigns and put his foot on the gas heading into the final lap. The pack quickly spread out, but Mogos, Will Daley, Jacob White, and Cardenas were all in the mix with 300 to go.
Down the backstretch the crowd rose to its feet as the once modest pace quickly turned into something resembling a 800 kick. All four were in full flight with 200 to go, and it was Cardenas, who has proven to familiar with such matters, who kicked last, and hard.
The Central (GJ) senior and future Adams State Grizzly tore down the homestretch and across the finish line in 4:20.33. What was perhaps more amazing than his time was the fact that he closed in 60 seconds.
Daley took the runner-up spot in 4:21.35, while Mogos was third in 4:23.65. White - a sophomore - finished fourth in 4:23.71 - a 24-second PR. Hoyt held on to finish fifth in 4:26 - a five-second PR.
Moving on up in distance it's clear that Durango came for business.
Aidan Fitzgerald and Noah Bodewes went 1-2 in the 3,200. Fitzgerald dropped a 9:21, which is his Colorado PR and just off his PR for the distance (he ran 9:15 at Arcadia). Currently his 9:21 as No. 1 in the 4A, and No. 3 in all-classifications.

They say that lightning doesn't strike twice in the same place, but in some ways Zion "Flash" Gordon nearly achieved the feat by dropping two insane performances within a week of each other
A week ago he ran 13.77 for a US No. 2, and Gordon nearly - nearly - did it again at Liberty Bell. The Regis senior ran 13.91 in the prelims Friday night, which is the fifth fastest time in the country (behind his own 13.77), then he rallied back to win the finals with ease in 14.21.
And speaking of nearly...
In the 300 Hurdles Charles Nnantah Jr. almost joined the Sub-38 Club. The Pine Creek senior cleared the field, and every hurdle to run 38.06 - that's No. 2 in Colorado.
Another big performance came from the Arapahoe quartet in the 4x8. The squad dropped a state-leading 7:53.
In the high jump Colin Morrison pushed the bar well over six feet to win the event with a 6-4 jump.
The long jump saw three go beyond 22 feet. Alex Hise took the W with a mark of 22-9, while Camwrin Harris and Dylan James finished second and third.
Harris did get a win before the end of his day, however. The Overland junior won the triple jump with a 43-5.5 mark.
13-10 was the mark to beat in the pole vault, and both Mason Adams and Wyatt Nelson hit the mark.
In the discus Max Christenberry took the field to the max, and won the event with a 165-6 toss. Meanwhile Drake Nugent added a few to his PR in the shot. The Highlands Ranch senior went big with a 57-2 toss to claim the win.
