Darias Harms was the clear winner in the 100. The Simla junior ran away with an 11.18 victory over Jaden Johnson, who finished second in 11.25.
Johnson did get a state title, however, in the 200.
The Heritage junior turned the tables on Harms, and sprinted his way to a 22.89 victory. Harms was second in the event in 23.18.
In the 400 there was no catching Elton Yarger. The Stratton/Liberty High senior capped his final state meet in style - by running away with a 50.61 state title.
Likewise, Colorado caught its last glimpse of two of the most dominating runners in 1A history, as Levi Kilian and Seth Bruxvoort cleaned up in the distance events.
Kilian nabbed two state titles over teammate Bruxvoort, winning the 800 in 1:56, and the 1,600 in 4:28. Bruxvoort was a solid runner-up in both events, running 1:58 in the 8, and 4:32 in the 1,600.
Bruxvoort did get a state title to call his own, however, as he dominated the field in the 3,200 with a 9:47 clocking.
In the 110H Arlo Garner defended his title with ease. The Cotopaxi senior cleared the field by half a second with a 15.48 clocking.
Unfortunately, he wasn't able to defend his 300H state title, as he was DQ'd in the final, leaving the door wide open for a new champion to emerge.
Ryan Zrubek answered the call, running 42.26 FTW.
In the high jump there was nobody who could go the heights with Jade Cass. The pre-state favorite dominated all-comers, going 6-8 to win the event by a staggering seven inches.
And speaking of dominance...
Elton Yarger added two more state titles to his 400, as he won the long jump, and the triple jump. Yarger cleared the competition with a 22-2.5 victory in the long jump, and a 44-8.25 triple jump. Johnson was second in the long jump with a 21-8.25 jump, while Cass took the runner-up spot in the triple jump with a 43-3.75.
Four went over 12 feet in the pole vault, with Tommy Harmon being the last man standing. Harmon cleared the field by six inches, and won the event with a 12-10 vault.
In the discus there wasn't anyone could challenge Keylan Dracon. The Otis senior won the event by nine feet, with a toss of 144-5.
Dracon had a challenger in Jayce Bauer in the shot, however. Both went over 45 feet, though Bauer was a clear victor, winning the event with a 48-3.5 toss. Dracon finished second with a 45-5.5.
The relays went to either Simla, or Heritage Christian, as both schools dominated the competition.
In the 4x1 Simla took the title, while Heritage Christian took the 4x2. Moving on up Simla was the victor in the 4x4, while Heritage Christian took the 4x8.
Heritage Christian dominated the team competition, tallying 148 points. Simla took silver with 67 points, while Stratton/Liberty was a close third with 65.
